Pappa con l’uovo

INGREDIENTS:
Water,
garlic,
salt,
cloves,
tomato,
stale bread,
eggs,
olive oil.

PROCEDURE: Water, garlic, salt, a clove if you like, tomato and slices of not fresh bread. Boil slowly for a long time. Add raw olive oil, one beaten egg for each diner. Boil again for a few minutes and the dish is ready. Egg soup was the basic food with which children were fed once. From the elders we hear people say “I grew up with the mashed baby food”. This is because the mother put the jelly spoon in her mouth in order to cool the food before ingesting it to the child.
