Beatesca is located on the hill of Montalcino. The vineyards, by virtue of their location and position, are very sunny and well lit, enhancing all the most noble and elegant fragrances that Sangiovese grapes may express.
The soil is clay loam and rich in gravel (studied by Prof. Mario Pasini of the Department of Geology and Paleontology, University of Siena).
The spurred-cordon vines are terraced, and the vine density is high with a yield of approximately 1 kg per plant.
Vinification is in line with the traditional method of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino regulations.
Ageing takes place in 5Hl French oak tonneaux and the wine is bottled without filtration keeping the authentic structure and expression of the wine as well as the raw material in tact as much as possible right from the start.
Thanks to the unique location of the vines, Beatesca wines represent one of the most elegant expressions of Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino with solid continuity guaranteed by the good acidity and elevated presence of mineral salts. Since 1991, owners Benedetta and Furio have rebuilt the small vineyard, which has always existed but almost went to ruin, with curiosity, dedication and great passion maintaining balance and respecting the integrity in collaboration with agronomist Simone Rossi and enologist Roberto Cipresso.
Both labels carry the name of “Beatesca” inspired by the names of daughters Beatrice and Francesca as well as by the venerable place where this poetic wine originates.

The sole varietal used is 100% Sangiovese Grosso.
